B-actor dying

Connor has certain sounds that he loves to make all the time. These of course change as the time goes on. He has been on "wow" (the O says it's name) and "oww" of late. But the funniest of all time is the one he started this weekend. He will make the sounds of a B-actor dying..."ah...oh...eh...oh...ah" and he will continue that on and on and on and on. It cracks us up every time. He also like to make spitting noises, which is funny because he picks the oddest times to start, like when he's eating dinner or going down for bed.

new tooth

Connor got a new tooth in last Thursday. It is his bottom right tooth (whatever that is called). He's been really tired and chewing on EVERYTHING so I'm inclined to think that he's going to be getting more in soon. This new one makes tooth #5. He's growing up so fast!

mamamamamamama

Connor is finally learning how to make the "M" sound. Last night he started out saying nanananananana, and then moved on to mamamamamamama. He hasn't said Mama alone yet, but at least he's getting there. He certainly is making me wait long enough!

baby steps

Last night Connor and I were over at Nanny's house so I could work on our taxes. Nanny had given Connor some graham crackers and then sat down to play with him. She called him over to her and he took 3 steps all by himself! Unfortunately, my back was turned to the computer so I missed it, but she got to see. :) I was so excited. We tried to get him to do it again, but if you know Connor, you know that he likes to do something once then wait a while before doing it again. I'm looking forward to practicing with him this weekend....who knows, we may have a real walker on our hands fairly soon. When he starts doing it more I will be sure to post pictures and/or videos so all can see.

big boy haircut

This morning we took Connor to get his first haircut. He looks so much like a big boy now, and not my little baby. We had an awesome day together as we all went to get his One Year pictures and then spent some time at home together. I can't believe how different my little man looks!

Happy Birthday!

Today is Connor's 1st birthday. I can't believe how big my little man has gotten. Yesterday was his birthday party, and we appreciate everyone who was able to make it to the party. Connor enjoyed his cake....though I think he enjoyed destroying it more than eating it. I was quite lucky because he decided to share some with me. :) Here are a few pictures from his party.

Christmas '07

This year was great with Connor celebrating his first Christmas. Christmas Eve morning (the day we do our Christmas Morning thing) Cana came in and woke us up; Connor wasn't even awake yet so I had to wake him up. After the traditional rummaging through our stockings in mine and Matt's bed, we headed to the Christmas Tree to see what Santa brought for the kids. Santa brought Connor a Leap Frog Learn-Around that makes music and teaches various things like letters, numbers, and colors.

Connor even helped open some of his gifts, though true to being a baby, he was more interested in trying to eat the wrapping paper than opening his gifts. After all the presents were opened, we sat down for breakfast. Keeping with Tradition, we had cinnamon rolls and decided to let Connor have a few bites of one. This just proved to us why we don't give him sugar. It took us 2 hours longer than it normally does to get him to take his nap! And he didn't even have a whole cinnamon roll!

Papa came over later that morning to hang out for a little bit and give Cana her presents (since she wouldn't be with us on Christmas Day). Nanny and Papa showed up a little later to see the kids for Christmas. That evening we had about 30 people over and Connor didn't get to bed until after midnight. Connor even got a special visit from Santa Clause (Grandpa). Amazingly enough with that many people and as thin as our walls are, Matt was able to get Connor to sleep.
Christmas morning a few people were still over and Connor got a bit more play time in with Chloe before they had to leave. That evening, it was over to Papa and Grandma's (Hill) house for Christmas dinner. By the time we got home from dinner, Connor was good and ready for a long night of quiet sleep.

new polo

Connor got this adorable polo for Christmas from his Nanny (Liz). He even thought he looked handsome in it and was all smiles for the camera the morning I put the shirt on him. So CUTE!

stars EVERYwhere

Connor was playing in the kitchen while I was chatting with Andi and working on his birthday invitations. He has a jar of these gerber star puffs that he really likes, and he kept reaching for the container, which was on the table. I figured there was no harm in letting him play with the jar seeing as how it's plastic, so I gave it to him. A couple minutes later I heard a POP and the sound of thirty or so star puffs scattering across the floor. He ate them up as fast as he could before I could get to them to clean them up. It was so funny to see.

testing...

Uncle Brandon was sitting on the couch just to the left of this picture and had put his hat in the one spot that Connor couldn't reach it on the coffee table. After several minutes of trying, he finally got the hat. He checked it out for a minute then chucked it off the table and on to the floor. He took a sideways glance at Uncle Brandon to see what he was going to do. If this is any indication, this little man is going to be a handful.

screwdrivers

Connor likes to get into the drawers in the kitchen, and for the most part, I don't mind because he doesn't usually get anything out that he's not supposed to. One time, I went in the kitchen and saw him in the drawer with both screwdrivers, one in each hand. Matt decided that it was time to move the drawers around a bit so Connor couldn't get them anymore. But we did manage to snap a few shots before banning him.

3 Generations Hockey Sweater

Here's Connor sporting the same hockey sweater that his Papa (Matt's dad) wore when he was a little older than Connor. This makes the 3rd generation of Hill boys to wear the sweater. Though it's not really functional given the age of the sweater, we were grateful for the photo op.

new wheels

Connor got his first set of wheels for christmas this year. Uncle Taylor was nice enough to put it together for him and take him for his first ride.

playin' with Chloe

Connor's cousin Chloe was in town for a few weeks for Christmas. This was their first time playing together.

little gamer

Connor has a natural affinity to video games already. Here's a shot of him with the remote we had to give him so Cana could finish playing her game without Connor trying to snag hers.

closing doors

Connor discovered how to close doors over the past few weeks. He can hardly see a door without running over (crawling fast) to close it. The funniest was the night that Matt and I were leaving his room and so we turned the light off; Connor decided to close his bedroom door. After a couple of seconds he realized what he did and started crying as if we had left him in there. The funniest part was right after we opened the door for him, he closed it back up and started crying again.
