socks

Connor has recently developed a very specific sense of which socks he wants to wear. As you'll notice in the Elmo post (2 down) he has on blue and grey striped socks. That is not because Matt and I can't match his socks to his clothes, that is because Connor refuses to wear any other socks when these are available.

There was a pack of 3 socks that I bought for him a while ago from Old Navy and apparently he is just realizing how much he likes these. Typically, he will rip his socks off his feet the first chance he gets...but with these ones, he leaves them on ALL THE TIME...even when he's sleeping! I was so surprised to see him finally put the striped one in the laundry Sunday morning...of course he did have another pair in the set that he was wearing at the time.

It's funny to see him already beginning to develop a sense of style all his own.

drinking the milk

Lately all Connor seems to want to eat is Strawberry Frosted Shredded Wheat. His favorite part...drinking the strawberry flavored milk straight out of the bowl when he's all done. :)

watching Elmo

Connor woke up pretty early on Saturday morning and wanted to watch some Elmo. Typically, he doesn't watch TV for more than 30 seconds, but for Elmo, he makes an exception. Here he is chillin' on the couch while Elmo is on...

colors

One of the things Connor has been learning at school are colors. He can now tell you what is red, white, yellow, blue and green...most of the time. It's most successful when you ask him to show you which one is the (fill in the color) one. He's getting better at being able to tell you the name of the color as he shows it to you as well. This weekend, he would play with the tassels on his Radio Flyer tricycle and hold up one tassel, saying "red" then hold up another one and say "white".

zat?

Connor's new thing is "zat?" (which means "what's that?") Everything he sees is "zat?" "zat?" "zat?" "zat?" "zat?"

bargaining

Last night Connor really wanted some juice just before bed, but Matt was only giving him the options of milk or water. they went through a whole process in the kitchen with Matt giving him a cup of milk, then a cup of water...Connor wanted nothing to do with either and kept trying to open the fridge to get juice.

fast forward to bedtime....

The normal process is I sit in his rocker with him on my lap, Matt gives him a kiss and Connor says "nigh-night". On this night, I told Connor to "give daddy kisses" and he puts his hand up in Matt's face (who is leaning down for his kiss), looks at him and says, "Juice". He was fully bargaining with Matt in an attempt to withhold kisses to get his juice. Matt, of course, did what any dad would do and held Connor's arms down while smothering him in kisses. We all got a pretty good laugh out of it...well everyone except Connor.

Connor at School

One of the things I really like about Connor's school is that they send me pictures randomly throughout the week of him having a good time. Here are a few...

no more pacifier....we hope

we're working on breaking Connor of the pacifier since now he doesn't take it at school anymore. yesterday's afternoon nap was horrible; he cried for a while without it and didn't nap very long. Though when we put him down for bed at night he went right to sleep without it or making a single fuss. keep your fingers crossed for us that it continues to go smoothly...
