Connor has moved up from flushing the entire roll of toilet paper down the toilet to flushing objects. Last night we managed to grab the 2 pens he put in the toilet, but not before the 3 lids that were included in the batch made it down the tube. This was the first time he's ever done anything like this, and usually we keep the bathroom door closed at all times, but we were in the middle of running the bath.
So this morning, Connor is playing with his camera (our broken one) and I am sure you can see where this is going....when I hear Matt jump out of bed, yelling "Connor No no no no no!" as he races to beat Connor to the open toilet in our bathroom. Connor manages to dump the camera in the toilet and flush it just as Matt reaches in to get the camera. Luckily, the camera isn't something that would have flushed anyway, but at this point, we realized that we needed to really explain to Connor that NOTHING other than pee, poo & toilet paper is allowed to go down the toilet.
Oh the joys of toddlers...

Potty Training
Matt's Birthday
For Matt's birthday, each of the kids decided (or I decided for them) to make him something for his birthday. For Connor we bought a wooden frame that he painted in blue and yellow and put a picture of the 2 of them in.
Here are a few pictures of the painting process...

cooking
Cana isn't the only kid in the house that likes to cook. On Saturday and Sunday mornings when I get up with Connor and sometimes in the evening when we get home from work, I will have Connor help me in the kitchen. One weekend morning, I had him help me make pancakes. He loved to stir the batter, but didn't quite seem to stir it all the way up.
Here he is helping me make breakfast...

Food
Cana had this fake food that she used to play with when she was younger. Being the pack rat that she is, at 10 years old, she still has it. One day she decided to bring it out to play with Connor; and that was the end of it belonging to Cana. Ever since that day this has quickly become one of Connor's favorite toys.
Once, when Connor was outside "driving" he decided that he wanted some snacks to take on his road trip so he packed the food up in the back of the car. Good Planning little man.

Cana
Connor has always called Cana "Nayna" ever since he could learn to refer to her by a name. On Monday, he started calling her "sister" because he was so proud that he not only knew the word, but that he knew how it applied. This morning he actually said "Cana" clear as day. However, as soon as Matt called her over to let her hear, it was back to "Nayna". He could still say it, but for whatever reason he wouldn't say it when she was listening. Guess that's the stubborn boy in him that he gets from my family.
words
The other night Matt and I sat down and updated a book that we have where we keep track of all the new words that Connor learns. After tallying them all up, he has about 150 words that he uses on a regular basis!
cute
We all know that Connor is cute...and we aways say that he knows he is cute, but last night he made his knowledge more clear than he ever has. Matt was feeding him some dinner and I was chatting Matt up about my day. I mentioned to Matt that 2 different parents of Connor's friend's had commented how cute Connor was. Connor looks at Matt, points to himself and says "Cute!" We both about died laughing.
Connor's Elmo
At Grandma's house last night, Connor got his very first Elmo and boy does he love it. Here are some pics that my mom took of him with his new toy.

He slept with Elmo all night and refused to get out of bed this morning without him. I was really surprised that Elmo didn't come in the car this morning with us on the way to school.

brain freeze
Connor had his first brain-freeze episode a little bit ago. He was eating a popsicle for dessert and totally loving it. All of a sudden he starts crying and gets mad at his popsicle and throws it down on the table. He looks up at us and starts hitting his hand against his forehead. All of this happened in the span of a couple of seconds, and right as Connor touches his forehead, Matt and I both realize he has brain freeze. I gave him a cup of lukewarm water to help it go away faster, and after a couple of minutes, he was back to enjoying his popsicle, albeit cautiously.
