dogs

Never, before today, have I been bummed about not being a dog person and thus being able to give my boy a "man's best friend" of his own.  My dad was over this evening and brought his lab, Sadie who hung out in the backyard.  Connor wanted to go outside and play with her so of course I let him.  While he was out there, I caught pieces of Connor's ongoing conversations with Sadie.

"Hey Sadie, do you want to see my teeth?" (pulls up his lips) "See, I got teeth too"

"Hey, I got a horn on my bike." (honk, honk, honk)

I wish it was cooler outside at the time so I could have had the screen open and caught more of the conversations.  I can definitely see how dog can become man (or boy's) best friend.

Connor: (sitting at the dinner table) Hey Dad, let's pretend this is a cutscene.

Father's Day

Here are a few of things I heard while Connor was filling out his Father's Day card for Matt:

"That's Dad's big eyes."
"That's my ghost mouth" (because it wasn't there)
"That's an egg splashing on my face."

Mom: Where's dad's hair?
Connor: He doesn't have any.

blood or chocolate?

Connor: Dad, I just spit out blood.
Dad: That's not blood, that's chocolate sauce.
Connor: I spit out chocolate?! Why did I do that?
Dad: I don't know.

the ninja in my yard

this morning, there was a ninja in my backyard wearing rain boots and wielding 2 swords.  he knocked over the car and a tee-ball set in a fit of rage. fortunately, he picked everything up and then obligingly posed for this picture for me:

birthday card

The kids put this birthday card on my pillow this morning.  Read the fine print in the right hand box for an awesome Connor treat.

Backwards Day

Today is backwards day at school.  Here's Connor rocking his backwards outfit.  (It took some work on my part to convince him he really wouldn't be comfortable wearing his socks backwards too)

dreans

the bad guys saved me from the mean sheep. the sheep caught me in a net and tied my hands like this (behind his back). Then i turned into Green Lantern (not sure if that is really part of the  dream or an add-in that he decided would make it sound better).  And then some guys locked the sheep out and they couldn't get back in.

Connor's rules for bad guy games

1. You can't hurt good guys.
2. You can be a ninja turtle or a spider or a plant.
3. Or you could be an animal.

"Dad, I wish I had a computer that when I said, 'Log on, computer!', it would log on. Is that funny?"
