Accuracy Counts

Taylor came into town from Vegas yesterday and we were chillin' in the backyard chatting. Star Wars came up (imagine that) so boy's ears perked up at this exchange:

Taylor: Luke Skywalker had a blue lightsaber.
Me: No, he didn't.
Taylor: Yeah, he did.
Me: Connor, what color is Luke Skywalker's lightsaber?
Connor: Green.
Taylor: No, Darth Vader's is green.
Connor: No, Darth's Vader's is red.

Hahaha classic. Now to Taylor's credit, I believe the first lightsaber Luke received from Obi Wan Kenobi (which belonged to Luke's father) was blue, but Connor has only seen episode 6, Return of the Jedi, so far, and in that one, Luke's lightsaber (the one he made himself) is green. So they're both right. But still, don't argue with my three year old about Star Wars haha.

raising him right

Last week, while at the bookstore, Matt picked up a book for Connor called "What is a Wookie?"; first introduction into the world of Star Wars. It's a beginners reading book so it was fairly simplistic, but it did go over who the majority of the characters were in Star Wars.

After reading it a few nights in a row Matt let Connor watch Return of the Jedi. Connor was so funny sitting there on the couch with his book as reference and pointing out all the characters in his book as he saw them on tv. Equally funny was when he saw a creature in the movie that wasn't referenced in his book because it confused him as to who that guy could be. He ended up watching the movie a couple of times throughout the weekend...always with his book in hand.

connor loves his cousin

Yesterday, Connor added another cousin to his list of relatives. Randy Adam Buckley was born to Brandon and Andrea. I've made a point of talking to Connor about his cousin so he would know who he is (given that we live far from him). He's been so excited about his new cousin, talking about how he was "sleeping in his mommy's belly".

This morning, I printed out a picture of Randy and Connor asked if he could see it so I gave it to him. The first thing he did was hug the picture. It was so adorable! He's going to be such a good big brother someday.

a welcome - Connor style

There is a new assistant director at Connor's school. On her first day there he decided he would welcome her in the way that only he can. he dazzled her with his charm, then when she wasn't looking, he dumped a handful of bark down the back of her pants.

tired of chocolate

This morning was Connor's easter egg hunt/breakfast at his school. After his easter egg hunt, he was sitting down going through his eggs and systematically eating all the candy in them. He ended up getting a few eggs in a row that had chocolate in them. He ate a couple, then gave me one, but when he opened up the next one and it, too, had chocolate in it, he says with a sigh, "I'm tired of this kind." and shoves it in my hands.

i guess he's can only take so much chocolate.
