First BIG Owie
Last week Connor was playing with the VHS tapes that we had stacked by the TV. (He likes to throw them all down into a big mess on the floor). This day, he decided to climb on top of the ones on the floor, but lost his footing and fell face first into the stack that was still there. He got a good little nick by his eyebrow and 2 faint scratches that bruised over. :( The first of many to come.....
Decorating Grandma's house
A couple weeks ago we went over to my mom's house and helped her decorate for Christmas. It's a bit of a tradition these days. Mom thought it would be funny to put the reindeer ears on Connor. We all expected him to tear them off, but he actually left them on a for a while. I guess it just goes to show, you can't predict a baby's actions. Here's a pic of him just hanging out.

Matt absolutely loves this other one here because Connor's kicking back in his retro 80's jumpsuit with his hands in his pockets.

Waving
So our little man is FINALLY waving! Last week Matt was playing with him in the mirror (i know, it seems like that is the only place they play!) and Matt was showing him how to wave. Apparently, that did it and he loves to wave now. He doesn't do the hand-wave, but the whole-arm wave. either way, it's way cute!

clapping
this last weekend Connor started clapping. he's been able to do one clap, but not for any reason that we could understand. Thanksgiving morning, Matt was playing with him and they were taking turns clapping. Now, anytime Connor gets excited he will sit down and start clapping. after trying all weekend, we were finally able to get him to clap on video. Just as soon as Matt figures out how to edit our video clips to smaller segments, i'll get some posted.
door
Connor's latest word is "door". funny enough, though he only associates it with the door in the shower. usually i can get him to say "door" at least once during the course of his bath. it's awesome to see his vocabulary slowly develop.
the word of the day today is "oww". not in association with pain, but in excitement of something or another. I'm trying to get him to say "uh-oh" but no such luck yet. give it a couple weeks, though and i'm sure he will.

Baby's First Thanksgiving
We celebrated Connor's very first Thanksgiving this year. He had so much fun with the whole family [except Cana :( ] there. He ate some turkey, sweet potatoes and broccoli casserole, then perused the Black Friday Ads with Aunt Barbi. Keeping with the family tradition, we gave him a Turkey leg of his own to gnaw on. The only downside was that because the turkey was cooked so well, it wouldn't stay on the bone! He liked it just the same, though. :)
Thank you to everyone who was able to make it over to enjoy that day with us.

Crawling & Climbing
It's Official! Connor has officially given up the army crawl in favor of the hands-and-knees crawling. He rarely is seen scooting along on his belly these days. It's so cute to see him crawl around the whole house.
Recently he's started the adventure of climbing. He hasn't successfully climbed on almost anything yet, but he is most definitely trying. Once, I was sitting next to the coffee table and he used my legs as a stepping stool to climb up on the table. Though it means we have to watch him more carefully, it's awesome to see him developing.

All Better
Some of you may know that Connor has beeen sick the past few days with a fever. (Scary for me, even if the doctors say it's only "moderate" at 103.5. I am glad to say, though, that he's all better now. His fever broke about 2am on Wednesday morning, but I stayed home with him one more day to make sure he was ok. He's developed a rash as a result of the fever, which the doctor said he might, but other than that he's back to normal.
Crawling, Pulling-up & Standing
Connor started "actual" crawling over the past weekend. (He's been doing the army crawl.) He will still army crawl when he wants to get somewhere fast, but he's also been up on all fours a fair amount lately. It's funny to watch because when he gets really excited about something, he'll drop to his belly and start gunning it to get the object of his desire.
Over the last couple of weeks, he's also started pulling himself up on anything and everything he can find. His favorites are our oval shaped coffee table and the TV stand. Oh, and who can forget the long window by the front door.

Pumpkin Carving
Here's some pics of Connor's first pumpkin carving experience this past weekend. He kept eating the lid to Matt's pumpkin, but apparently raw pumpkin doesn't agree with his stomach because it didn't stay in there long. He loved sitting with his pumpkin and squishing all the seeds before we cleaned it out. For his pumpkin, I traced his hand and cut out the shape of it on his Connor-size pumpkin. All in all, he had a good time.

Connor's Cousin
9 Month Photos
This last weekend, we went to Penney's and had Connor's 9 month photos taken. Since his 9 months photos fell so close to Halloween, we decided to get some of him in his Halloween costume as well. (He's a lobster this year.) The second set of pictures, we decided to go geek like daddy and had him playing on a laptop. They turned out so cute! As soon as I get them back I'll post some samples of them on here.
More Teeth!
Connor now has 4 teeth! The top left came in a couple weeks ago and the top right just popped up a few days ago. He is getting teeth so fast! The top ones are in enough to see portions of them, but not enough to see when he smiles. It's a good thing he's as fascinated with brushing his teeth as he is, though, because he's getting them in quick!
New Home
After 9 months of sharing a room with Mom and Dad, Connor finally has his own room. In the last couple of weeks, we've been moving into our new 3 bedroom house. It's nice to have so much space for him to move around. The other night when I was running his bath, he army-crawled all the way from his bedroom to his bathroom (about 30-40 feet around a "5" shape) so he could play in the water. At one place, there is a room that is sunken in by 1 step and he's already mastered that step.
We're looking forward to many happy memories in our new home. I'll get some pics of Connor's room up as soon as we're done setting it up.

dancin'
Last week at my mom's house, Connor was hanging out in his walker while he ate some dinner. My mom had on some tunes in the background, and when "The Twist" came on, Connor started dancing. (moving his head and upper body back and forth somewhat to the tune) It was so cute to see, so we kept encouraging him to continue. It was funny because you could see the songs that he really felt the need to move to when he would start dancing all of a sudden as one of them came on.

Cheerios
Connor officially had his first finger food last week. I sat down with him last week and gave him a couple of Cheerios and he fell in love. It took him a couple of days to get the hang of letting go once he had it in his mouth, but ever since then he only wants to feed himself. The other night I started giving him raisins too. Here's a pic of him this morning feeding himself some Cheerios and raisins. I'm looking forward to giving him more kinds of finger foods because I love to see the independence plus he's so darn cute!
Teeth
Connor is getting his top 2 teeth in...actually they've been right on the verge of coming out for what feels like forever. Finally, though, his left one has started peeking through. The right one doesn't look to far off either.

Tahoe Trip
Matt and I went up to Tahoe this past weekend to celebrate our first anniversary. Being that Connor is so young and that we'd be there for 3 days, we decided to take him with us. He had a blast in the bathtub/swimming pool we had. There was a HUGE jacuzzi tub that was like a pool for him. In fact, he threw the biggest fit I've ever seen him throw when we took him out. He also got the chance to hang out in the hotel's indoor pool and love it! This boy is definitely a water baby.
Here are a few of my favorite pics.
